🏔️ No signal in the mountains or at a remote stop? With offline maps you still find locations in the countries you've downloaded.
Who can use offline maps?
Offline maps are part of PRO+. Are you a member of the NKC? Then you can use them too. See everything PRO+ offers on the PRO+ page.
How do I download a country?
- Go to Account > Offline locations.
- Under Available countries, tap the dark green slider next to the country.
- Wait until the download is done. Want to stop? Tap Cancel.
- The country moves to Downloaded at the top. The slider turns light green with a tick. That's it.
💡 Tip: download only the countries you drive through or stay in. That saves storage. Do it at home or at a campsite with wifi.
⚠️ Good to know: keep the app open and your screen on until the download is done. If you leave the app or your screen locks, the download stops.
Why does downloading take a while?
Downloading the map is quick, but setting it up on your device takes longer: on average 2 to 20 minutes, depending on the size of the country and your connection. Meanwhile you can keep searching for locations.
How do I use offline maps?
No internet? The app switches to the offline map automatically. Want to switch yourself, for example to save mobile data?
- Tap the cloud icon with a line through it.
- Tap Switch mode.
You're now offline and can search the countries you've downloaded.
How do I go back online?
- Make sure you have internet.
- Tap the layers icon on the map.
- Choose Map or Satellite.
- The app asks if you want to go back online. Tap Switch mode.
You can now search all Campercontact locations again.
What works offline, and what doesn't?
✅ Works offline:
- Searching and viewing locations in downloaded countries
- Searching by place name (places that have a location)
- The cover photo of a location
❌ Only online:
- Reading reviews
- Viewing, saving or filtering favourites
- The route planner
- Navigation, also in a downloaded country
The offline app uses the same language as your app: English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish or Italian.
